    The map tools can be found in the toolbar menu area located along the left side of the map.  Various other map tools can  be accessed by right clicking inside the active map area.  Map layers become visible or active at different map scales, as you zoom the map more and more layers become available to you.  the map scale is located in the bottom right corner of the map. Pay close attention to the layer menu on the left side of the map after zooming for an updated list of available layers.  Remember, layers can always be turned on or off by toggling the check boxes directly left of the layer name.  After selecting a map object always look to the reports icon located in the map tools toolbar for available reports.  Also be aware that when the pointer changes from an arrow to a hand there is data hyperlinked to that map object, double clicking that object opens the hyperlinked data.  If you need further assistance right click the mouse over the active map area and go to "help" in the right click sub-menu.
